REALITY AND ILLUSION!
The whole universe, following the idea above, is not real but illusion. The term illusion does not mean it does not exist. The term illusion (Maya) is a way to describe whatever is in the universe. Beyond the universe (Space-time) is reality. This reality can be experimented by a real yogi. That reality, beyond duality, is experimented in Samadhy.
We have human concepts. These concepts depend on different things...
CONCEPTS VS REALITY!
We are under Maya (Illusion) and therefore all what we see, hear, touch, taste, and smell is illusion. The commitment of a yogi is to break that process to get out of the illusion.
How can we scape from illusion if we are under its power? This is the main question and the main goal. Many try to scape, but not everybody fulfill that task. The first step is to understand this concept in detail; we need to understand why we are trapped into illusion. This is not a mere desire of the gods or something similar, but a trapped that we created by ourselves. Let me try to explain this paradox.
Let’s suppose a person who is born under the beliefs of his/her parents. Let’s suppose both parents have the same beliefs. Well, it is normal that they will bring these beliefs to their children. The result of this is that their children will grow up with these ideas. But, school (teachers) might bring “new” ideas or beliefs. In both cases (parents and teachers) are bringing concepts and ideas to these children. They can change the way the children think. On one hand some children might keep the ideas of their parents; but sometimes teachers change the ideas of them. In both cases we are talking about concepts, ideas and beliefs. Who can say without any doubt if the teachers or the parents are right? No one! In both cases there is a problem: concepts are not the real thing, but ideas about something that any one can believe or not. So, where is reality? What is the reality of things?
More over, people have a very natural tendency: They read or search what they like. So if someone, for example, is skeptic he/she likes reading books related to skepticism and might enjoy when people talk against religion. The more he/she reads those things the more he/she is being programmed to believe those things. The same happens to people who believe in God. What God are they talking about? Well, the God they were programed to believe; but the fact is simple: They never saw it. Where is it?
Illusion makes us to believe or not to believe. The main idea is to be free of those beliefs. Therefore believing something does not solve this problem. Believers and non-believers are trapped into Maya.
It has to be a way to get out of this illusion. Here is where real yoga comes to rescue us. Yoga’s goal is to go beyond our own concepts, ideas, theories and beliefs. This is why meditation is the heart of yoga: Meditation is the key to Samadhy, the latter is the experience of reality beyond the body, the mind and therefore beyond our ideas, concepts, theories and beliefs.
It does not matter how much you belief in meditation or yoga. That belief does not take you to Samadhy. It is something that can be experimented after years of experimenting with meditation. That requires patience, perseverance and humbleness.
WHAT IS REALITY?
Maya, as we explained above, is all what has a beginning and an end. Real, on the contrary, is whatever is eternal, beyond time and space. But, what does it mean?
Real is Brahma, Atman, the soul and all what is immortal. Is our body real? No, it is not real when we talk about immortal things. The body has a beginning and it has an end. But, what is inside the body? We have organs, they have cells, the latter molecules, these atoms and within them energy. We are energy. We are not the body; we are a special energy which is wrapped into this body. The body is not the matter, the soul is.
Think about a candy or a gift. What do you do with the paper wrapping the candy or the gift? We all put it in the trash can. Why? Because it is not important. The matter is not the paper, but the candy or the gift.
The body is just a wrapping thing where the soul is. The soul is formed by different types of energies, but the bottom line it is energy. We all know that energy cannot be created or destroyed; but it changes. Well, if we are energy then we existed before the body and we, the soul, will continue after the death of the body. If the soul exists before the body and it will continue after the body’s death, then we understand which one is more important.
We are so trapped into Maya that we barely accept we have a soul. Nevertheless, what machine or robot can work without energy? While a machine or a robot takes energy from a power source (A battery or an outlet), the soul takes energy from the cosmos using the chakras.
Nobody can now doubt about acupuncture. It has been accepted in western medicine because it works. But, who can see the channels that acupuncture talk about? Nobody, nevertheless there are maps of these channels and they work. So, if someone cannot see the soul it does not mean it is not real.
Reality is way far from the physical body or the physical universe. It is said that one day for Brahma is more or less around 3,000 trillions of human years. So, what is a life of a person who is alive an average of 60 to 70 years? It is nothing. It is not real! Life is a dream. The dream of Brahma.
Our task is to go beyond Maya, beyond illusion. The goal is to get connected to Atman. Here is where Samadhi is needed. Meditation is a technique to find the ultimate truth: Atman. Here we come to understand that MEDITATION IS THE HEART OF YOGA. When meditation is taken away from yoga then yoga becomes something like a gym. Obviously, it helps; but asanas alone cannot take you to Atman: Reality.
REALITY, IDEAS, CONCEPTS AND BELIEFS.
Reality does not depend on such things. If reality were depending on them then we all have our own reality! This does not make sense either.
One way to understand this phenomena is as follows: We all see life through imaginary glasses. These glasses represent the way we perceive the world, the universe and everything. Remember: We are perceiving MAYA; we are not perceiving The Reality.
MAYA is the way we see things. We think real is what we see. We think real is what has a beginning and an end; which is the opposite to the “idea” of reality expressed above.
These glasses, the way we perceive everything, are programs within our head. If we have orange glasses then we see everything orange, purple glasses will show everything purple. Well, all the ideas, concepts, theories, opinions and beliefs are doing exactly the same thing.
“Our reality” belongs to us. It does not matter how others see everything, we see them in a total different way. We cannot see the same thing. Explaining it in a better way: We see the same (The same physical things), but our perception changes our ideas, concepts, theories, opinions and beliefs.
Example? Picture a friend (Joe); ask yourself how that person is. Get some others friends and ask them how Joe is. Do you think you will get the same answer from all those friends? No, you will not get the same answer. Why? Because, even when you all see the same person, the concepts about him are different. His mother might see someone totally different than your friend Joe, right?
Getting deeper into this matter: Yes, THERE IS AN ABSOLUTE REALITY BEYOND ANY CONCEPT, IDEA, OPINION, THEORY OR BELIEF. Do you get how it is possible to see it? Yes, take off your glasses. How can you do that? You need to learn deep meditation, way far from relaxation. Finally one day, you might enter into Samadhi to experiment that which is beyond time and space.
Brahma, the superior and primordial intelligent force, is the cause of everything that exists. So, everything that exists has a reason to exist. Prana brings energy to all living things; this divine energy has a purpose. It is not just the mere action of bringing energy; but to make the creation perfect, a resemblance of Brahma.
Brahma, the Father, is always in an eternal discovery of himself through all the creation. His wisdom is timeless and without limit; therefore he needs to keep learning, so he makes new experiments in this immense laboratory called Universe (MAYA).
Brahma use Maya (Illusion) as a way to discover new things that belong to him. He discovers things that need perfection and then he sends Vishnu to do the job. Vishnu (The Son, the preserver) works within Maya to create perfection. The perfect balance of the universe comes as the result of the sacrifice done by Vishnu.
The whole universe will not be possible without the three main forces: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. They are the cause and effects of everything. They are the root and the outcome of everything. They are the beginning and the end of everything.
Everything comes out form them and everything, sooner or later, goes back to them.
One day, the universe where we are will disappear. It will be soaked up back to the origin of everything. It will remain there for trillions of years to come back into existence once more with new full possibilities. While it stays beyond the physical realm then other universes will exist. While some universes are evolving others are moved by entropy, they are decaying till they die.
Many universes can stop from existing and, nevertheless, Brahma continues making experiments to build perfection now here then over there and so on.
Everything is just the dream of Brahma. Everything is an illusion because nothing exist for ever; but Brahma. He has many names and, at the same time, he has none.
We might believe we are very important or very strong; but the whole solar system is a mere particle in the universe. So, where is our importance? Where is our strength? One or several universes can stop from existing, but Brahma continues after all.
It does not make sense to look for the beginning of everything in the universe. The origin is far beyond the universe.
If we follow the Big Bang backward then we get into a very special second: The second where the Big Bang started. The question, again, is: What happen one second before the Big Bang? Where all this creation comes from? If the Big Bang created the known universe then it does not come from the universe, not from the physical world; but beyond!
Let’s try to find a piece of dynamite that can explode alone, without a hand. Where is it? Common sense tells us that someone or something set the fire so the original dynamite could explode. Brahma was the cause, the Trimurti got into action to create all different universes and dimensions of Maya.
