WHAT IS THE TRIMURTI?
A pyramid is the best way to represent the Trimurti and the universe. This is why we find pyramids all around the planet, even in China.
So let us explain something about the Trimurti.
BRAHMA AND ATMAN:
He is the god of the Creation of the Universe (Brahmānḍa) and he belongs to the Trimurti: BRHAMA, VISHNU AND SHIVA. We can find this Trimurti in other religions.
Brahma is THE TRANSCENDENTAL SELF. He is beyond the universe and nature, but the creator of both. It is said he was self-born form a lotus flower, being the lotus flower a symbol of pure nature.
In a way there is not difference between Brahma and Atman, but in another way the difference is that Brahma is the transcendental Self and Atman is the Inner Self. Brahma is the root of the universe and, therefore, the root of existence. Brahma is spread within all beings and within all beings he is Atman.
This is a very basic important aspect of many religions. In Hinduism they are: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
Hinduism: Egyptians: Christianity:
Brahma Osiris The Father
Vishnu Hours The Son
Shiva Isis The Holy Spirit
Mayas and Aztecs had The Three Hurricanes and they three together were called THE HEART OF HEAVENS.
In Hinduism Lord Shiva is married to Shakti and they are one. Isis is the Holy Spirit in Egypt. Ancient Christians use to refer to the Holy Spirit as feminine.
The followers of religions use to like one aspect of the Trimurti. I mean, either they prefer one aspect of the Trimurti or another one. Some people become devotes of the Father, others prefer the Son and others the Holy Spirit.
In India, for example there are three types of Bhakti yoga practitioners:
1- Shaivas, 2- Vaishnavas, 3- Shaktas
1- Worshippers of Lord Vishnu: Rama, Krishna, etc. Worshippers of The Christ: Jesus.
2- Worshippers of Lord Shiva and his Family Worshippers of the Holy Spirit and the Sacred Family
(Joseph, Mary and Jesus)
3- Worshippers of the Goddesses: Durga, Lashmi, Worshippers of the Virgins: Mary, Fatima, Guadalupe, etc.
BRAHMA, VISHNU AND SHIVA:
- BRAHMA is the Creator or builder.
- SHIVA is the Destroyer.
- VISHNU is the one who preserves the universe.
It is easy to understand that when Brahma created the universe he had a purpose, so he created all the laws that we know (Gravity, Electromagnetism, Electricity, etc.) and those we do not know...
It is observable in nature and the universe that everything has a progress: A seed grows up and it becomes a tree, a kid grows up and he becomes a person, a planet is born and it develops, the whole universe expanding is in progress. That is what is called evolution or progress or development.
Nevertheless, everything decays after it reaches the maximum of its progress: A tree and a person, for instance, after growing up they become old and finally they die. The same we can say about the planets. Scientists know very well that the universe will perish in some millions of years. This is another process and it is exactly the opposite to evolution. This process is called ENTROPY; it is the second law of Thermodynamics. It is applied to everything because everything, including the universe, decays.
We could state then that Brahma pushes things to progress to a specific point and after that Shiva takes control to make everything to decay and finally to perish.
The Great Architect of the Universe created another force that neutralizes the destruction. It is VISHNU, The Preserver. VISHNU IS THE FORCE OF LOVE. He is the one who sacrifices himself in order to give life back again to everything. He does it in the universe and here on our own planet.
Let us see… We know this sequence: Spring, summer, fall and finally winter. Winter is so cold that we could die if the heat does not come back again. Nevertheless, after winter we have back again spring and everything seems to come back to life. That is the force of Vishnu working year after year. This is why Osiris is painted with a green skin color, he resurrects every year in spring time. He is the god of resurrection for Egyptians.
These three intelligent forces work together in harmony as a whole. They work in the whole universe: While some planets are perishing others are coming to life, while an universe die another one is born, and so on.
According to Hinduism, every time a huge revolution is needed then Vishnu has to come back to renovates everything. He is supposed to come every time we reach the end of the iron age so a golden age can start again. Let us remember the four ages: Gold, Silver, Cooper and Iron. How can we go from an iron age (Chaos) into a golden age (Order and harmony)? There is only one answer: VISHNU, THE PRESERVER!
BRAHMA: THE SUPREME INTELLIGENCE OF THE CREATION.
Intelligence, what is it? It is a mystery for science. Nobody really knows what that is. Consciousness is another mystery. Where is it? What is it? Neither psychologists nor psychiatrists know the answer to those questions. Science is trying to understand what those things are.
The whole universe and beyond have a purpose. It is said that Brahma is sleeping and the universe is his dream, in other words, everything is an illusion. We will talk about this illusion in other article.
Brahma is the cause of all causes and all effects, the root of everything. Nevertheless he is within everything at the same time. This wonderful intelligence called Brahma is within every single atom. Every atom has intelligence and it has the consciousness give by Brahma. This is the reason why cells can do what they can do or antibodies can fight gems or our stomach knows how to digest, etc., etc., etc.
The whole body is full of a marvelous intelligence. The whole body is an universe full of tiny creatures with specific functions: antibodies, germs, cells, platelets, corpuscles, etc. It had to be an intelligence to create all the parts of the body and make them to work with the purpose of giving life to the whole body.
Brahma with Shiva and Vishnu set this universe into action. They are the three original intelligent forces which hold life in the whole universe. They are beyond the gods or angels. They, actually, created the gods, so they organize the universe and beyond.
Brahma (The Father) unfold Shiva (The Holy Spirit) and Shakti (The Positive and Negative energy of the creation) and from both of them Vishnu (The Son) came into action. An easy way to see them is like this: Brahma is the head (intelligence), Shiva and Shakti the arms (Right and left) and the creation is Vishnu (The neutral force). They work in harmony as one.
Everything needs these three forces to create: A seed needs fire and water (They are opposite), a baby needs a man and a woman (They are opposite), light needs a positive pole and a negative pole, neutrons cannot exist without protons and electrons, etc. That is the way nature and the universe work.
Far beyond human intelligence there is a Supreme Intelligence, a Supreme Consciousness: BRAHMA.
