SPIRITUALITY AND FAITH.
Faith is what you really know is true, not because someone told you so, but because you went through it. Did you ever burn yourself? I bet you did and you know that the fire burns. You do not have doubt about it. It is a fact and you paid the price to learn that. Well, now you have faith on the fair. That is faith!
Yes, faith and spirituality can be developed. How?
SPIRITUALITY: BHAKTI AND KARMA YOGA!
The great Master Krishnamurti stated that the one on the path should do what is right without paying attention to the ignorant. He explains that there are two types of men: Sages and ignorant. The first ones are those on the path and the others those who are not on the path.
Well, bad karma can be modified if we change the way of life we have and if we learn to help other beings. Helping other is the best deal in the universe because it creates Dharma. The latter is Cosmic Capital. The more you have the better your life could be. The less you have the worst your life could be.
A person who has a rich spiritual life is always willing to help other ones even when it might be difficult.
Developing spirituality is possible if we practice these two yogas. Some people are willing to help their family or the members of their church; but a real practitioner does not see religions or believers. A real yogi sees souls beyond skin color, language, race, country, social or economic status, age or beliefs.
A real yogi is willing to help everyone even those who might hate him/her. All great Masters taught to love others and that is helping others. No Master ever said to help only the members of their clan or circle; but to all beings.
Love and compassion are the base of all religions and a person who has a spiritual side will always practice both.
Selfishness, selfishness, selfishness is a poison that destroys souls of all religions and beliefs. Selfishness is like a cancer that kills the soul slowly. Let your love to go out and spread it to the world!
TIPS TO DEVELOP SPIRITUALITY.
Love and Dogmas.
Love is beyond human limitations. Love is action and dogmas make people to believe regardless actions!
Fanatics are everywhere, but they are not practicing spirituality. Love is spirituality. The more you understand love the more spiritual you are!
Love without action is dead. Love is life and movement. Love is like a river that goes to the ocean. It moves everything until it gets into the ocean then it becomes one with it. We all are just tiny drops into the river. Let all drops go to the ocean!
Nobody can stop love because is a divine force. The most amazing secret of the universe is this: THAT AMAZING FORCE IS WITHIN YOU! It does not mean that you are divine, but the divine is within you. It is your choice if you want to develop spiritually or not.
The real seeker will find the truth sooner or later. That truth will take him to the same conclusion of all sages: WISDOM AND LOVE ARE INSIDE!
Stop becoming just a reader and get into action! Knowledge is great, but without practicing it has not value. The most important thing from knowledge is this: it gives you the way to do, but you have to do it! This is the great wisdom of JNANA YOGA.
Do not ever fight for what you believe because everyone has the same right to choose his/her beliefs. Respect all religions and even those who mock at you.
Practicing Karma Yoga.
Karma Yoga is the yoga of right action. A real yogi practices this yoga to develop love for all beings regardless of language, country, skin color, age, beliefs, etc.
Practicing Karma Yoga develops the Anahata Chakra and all the spiritual process depends on this chakra. Please check the types of yoga (Link at the bottom) to learn more about the different yogas.
Practicing Karma Yoga is helping others even when it is not easy. People usually ask: “What about if someone takes advantage of me?” The answer is simple: Forget about that person, there are thousands or maybe millions who need your help. There are non-for-profit organizations to help, there are donations needed in different places, etc.
Learning this yoga, as any other, is a matter of experience and it does not come without trying first.
Practicing Bhakti Yoga.
It has to be something beyond human limitation; but we have to be able to find it. Atman, the inner God or the Father who is in Secret, is beyond our understanding. But he is able to understand us. He is waiting for the sincere seeker. It is easy to say “I want to find him.” But not everyone is sincere. Most of the people look for him to get something from him. The real seeker looks for him to wait for his grace and wisdom.
Atman asks for patience, perseverance, humbleness and love. Many people think they have all that; but if that was the case we would have thousands of masters everywhere in the planet. The reality is the opposite: IT IS NOT EASY TO BECOME A BUDDHA!
Nevertheless, there is always a way to start. You start learning to love others and that is practicing karma Yoga. Then think that all beings have Atman inside. The divine spark is within all us; but not everyone reach the other shore. Not everyone is able to experiment Samadhi!
Reading Spiritual Books.
The best books to learn about spirituality are those written by great Masters. They are usually called SACRED BOOKS or HOLY BOOKS. The name is not the matter, but the knowledge you can get from them. Some are: The Mahabharata, the Bhagavad Gita, the Vedas, and the Upanishads. Nevertheless, there are other great books around the planet: The Popol vuh (A Maya-Quiche book), the Chilam Balam (A Mayan book), the book of the dead (An Egyptian book). No, I did not forget about one of the most famous: The Bible.
Remember: SPIRITUALITY IS NOT ABOUT A RELIGION. A REAL YOGI RESPECTS ALL RELIGIONS. A REAL YOGI DOES NOT ACCEPT DOGMAS BECAUSE HE/SHE IS AN ETERNAL STUDENT OF THE TRUTH. “The Truth” for a Yogi is within and all sages found it. Each of them expresses the same Eternal Truth beyond human concepts!
Searching for Spiritual Lectures.
You can find many sites from around the world talking about great spiritual ideas. This is the good part of internet; the dark side is that you do not know who is posting the articles you are reading. My advice: Keep your mind open and choose wisely.
LOVE AND COMPASSION!
Beautiful virtues such as patience, kindness, philanthropy, charity, humbleness, etc. are rare nowadays. Nevertheless, we all need them.
A way to develop spirituality is practicing both: Love and compassion. Love must be understood as helping others and compassion is sympathy for others. Love is action to help others, compassion is being concern about others.
Sometimes people just need a good smile or a simple advice. Some other times they need you to help to do something.
We all need someone to be with us; but most of the people are waiting for that person and they do not want to become that person. We have to become that person willing to help others and be concern about others. What if someone take advantage of me? Well, forget about that person, there are thousands others to help.
Buddha said: “All beings have the right to be happy.” That is a simple yet powerful sentence. Well, if you cannot help a person to achieve happiness, then do not bother him/her; do not hurt anyone! This should be apply to humans and all beings.
It is so sad that modern societies are losing human values. What if we all were kind and if we all look forward to help each other? Couldn’t it be a better world? Yes, of course.
Spirituality is about human values. It is about being good neighbors, good friends, good students, good teachers, good people, etc.
Love and compassion is an universal philosophy taught for all great Masters of all times.
Did you ever think how to improve the world or the society? Most of the people do not care, but they want a better world. How can we have a better world if we do not build it?
Be brave and give a hand when it is possible. But be smart!
