THIS VERY MOMENT!
The monk: “What is the Tao?”
The Master: “What a beautiful mountain!”
The monk: “I do not ask for the mountain. I ask for the Tao.”
The Master: “If you cannot see the mountain, the you cannot see the Tao.”
That is a very simple and yet powerful way to explain the need to be in the present. The mind worries about everything and it is always wondering about things, but the matter is to enjoy your life at this very moment. Why to get worry about something that is not part of the present. If you are in a park then enjoy, if you are at your house then enjoy, if you are at a party then enjoy, etc. Love your life to its fullest.
You do not need to carry all over your past and be complaining about something you did not get. That only makes you sad and vitalize your frustration. You should learn to enjoy this moment in the best way possible. Yes, it might be a sad situation, a funeral of someone you loved, to say something. Yes, you might not be having fun, but you can show a proper attitude of resignation. Nothing can bring that person back to life, not eve one million of tears. So you need to accept what you cannot change. Face what is inevitable. If you need to cry, then do so, but everything will be fine later. At the present you need the proper attitude and live that moment as it has to be lived.
Every single moment is unique. It will not come back. This very moment is therefore important. The matter is to take the best from it. You are entitle to happiness and calmness, so enjoy this very moment.
ATTENTION: THE KEY TO THE PRESENT.
We need to train our mind to live the present. We need to understand the power of now. This now, this moment, is the matter. You cannot change your past,but you can change your future right now. The future Is made of decisions made at a point: THE PRESENT, THIS MOMENT.
When you take a decisions you must be totally present and paying attention 100%. If you do not listen a key word of the message you might sign something that is not good for you, or you might say yes to something you had to say no, or you might end doing something wrong because you misunderstood.
Attention is really important to do things properly, but if you are thinking about something you did (Past) or about something you might do later (Future) then you are not focus on the present. Bring your mind to the present, to this moment. You need to focus on what you are doing. You have to redirect your attention to what you do instead to direct the attention to your thoughts.
FACE YOUR FEARS WITH THE PRESENT.
Calmed down, think slowly, take a breathe. You are putting pressure on yourself without a need! Take it easy, slow down. Please, try to see that you are thinking of something it is not happening at that very moment. Check around you and tell yourself: “Everything is ok at this moment.” Why are you torturing yourself? Breathe again and confirm that nothing is happening at that very moment. Repeat again: “Everything is ok at this moment.”
That is a bad and horrible habit. It comes from letting your mind to go wild without observing the real things around you. You are focusing on a future that is not here yet. Probably nothing that you are thinking will never ever come true.
The more you focus on that negative hypothetical future the more you will be afraid. You are just feeding that mental behavior and making your fears bigger and stronger. What for?
If you want to think about the future then do it in a smart way: Think Positively! Make plans for something good. Project a brilliant future and smile. But do not waste your time with that negativity. Usually what you think does not come true. Well, what if it becomes true? Then you face it with faith and hope. But do not torture yourself with hypothetical thoughts.
FOCUS ON WHAT YOU HAVE, FOCUS ON THE PRESENT. FOCUS ON THE BEAUTY OF THINGS. CHECK AROUND YOU AND SEE THAT NOTHING IS HAPPENING. THINK THAT THINGS WILL BE BETTER. SEND YOUR INNER FORCE IN A POSITIVE WAY AND TRY TO ENJOY EACH MOMENT OF YOUR LIFE.
DO NOT RUN AWAY FROM THE PRESENT!
Do not run away form this moment, just make the best out of it. Well, if the best is resignation because something you cannot change happened, then learn to designate. But even in that situation you can bring the best from you. The matter is to enjoy the moment in the best way possible. It is up to you. Nobody can tell you what to do. It is your decision.
What if you have to do something important and you cannot relax for now. Well, go and do what you have to do. Procrastination can be paid very high. So do not procrastinate. You might say that you do not like to do that “important” tasks. Maybe it is hard or boring, but if you let things just to go without you taking action then do not complain later. Do not run from your responsibilities, do not run from the moment.
Do what you have to do and then take a nice break. Work hard and then take vacations. But always live in the preset, enjoy each moment of your life.
WHERE IS THE ONE WHO BOTHERS YOU?
Do not think album the person who bothers you. Relax and take things easy. Most of the times things do not happen the way we think. Enjoy the present forgetting and forgiving that person. If you need to face him/her then let the moment come, but do not waist your time thinking lever and over.
You have people,who love you. They deserve your attention, not other person. When feeling hatred then think of those who love you. Think about people who deserve your attention. Enjoy your life with them.
Living the present frees you from many things. It is a really bad habit to think of people who are not worthy. That time should be for your family and for your real friends. Stop thinking about people who annoys you and start enjoying your life.
Take your family to the park, play games together, practice yoga with your kids, go to the beach with them. Focus on your kids, on your family and forget all those who do not understand you.
Yes! Life is so short and so precious. A friend of mine had a discussion with her mother. He went to a trip. When he returned his mother was dead. He did not have time to say “I am sorry” or “Forgive me.” Do not waste the opportunity to be alive to enjoy with those you love.
ENJOY THIS MOMENT, THIS PRESENT!
Travel to a nice place and enjoy that. Traveling is expensive! The joy has not price. The more you enjoy life the healthier you could be. Get rip of that stress and send your worries to the trash can. Do what you have to do, but enjoy life. This moment will never come back, so take advantage of it.
Complaining does not solve any problem. Actually it brings anger, frustration and sadness. The outcome? Sickness. Please, see the importance of living the present. It is not a matter of not making plans, it is a matter of enjoying life.
LIVING THE PRESENT AND PLANNING YOUR FUTURE.
Living the present does not mean forgetting the future. It is normal and a common sense to plan your life. We all need to plan our life in the best way possible. But not to the point where it becomes an obsession or a worry.
If you try to live the present and you procrastinate your activities and responsibilities then you will have a lot of problems. So live the present and face any situation with the best attitude possible. Important tasks and responsibilities need to be taken as priorities. Relaxing comes after taking care of all the things you need to do.
Yes! You have the right to plan your future. You have the right to fulfill your dreams and plan for them. Nevertheless, you should enjoy your present and all you have now. You cannot enjoy the future because it is not here.
This is very important:
HAPPINESS IS NEITHER IN THE PAST NOR IN THE FUTURE, BUT IN THE PRESENT!
BE PRESENT WHILE PRACTICING YOGA OR MEDITATION.
We need to develop the capacity to be in the present while doing yoga or meditation. The quality of the practice depends on that. The more you focus on the practice the better the effect from the practice.
Any practice most be performed totally focus on it. This brings joy for what you are doing and the effects of the practice are magnified!
EASY MEDITATION PRACTICE FOR YOU!
1- Seat down and let your back to be straight.
2- Close your eyes.
3- Feel your body: The position of it, the air coming in an doing out (5 mins)
4- Focus on your feet for one minute.
5- Focus on your calves for one minute.
6- Focus on your thighs for one minute.
7- Focus on the backside and the creative organs for one minute.
8- Focus on the stomach for one minute.
9- Focus on the chest for one minute.
10- Focus on your back for one minute.
11- Focus on your shoulders, arms and hands for one minute.
12- Focus on your thought and neck for one minute.
13- Focus on your face for one minute.
14- Focus on the rest of your head for one minute.
15- Focus on your whole body for one minute.
IMPORTANT: Inhale slow, deep and long and exhale normal during the whole practice. The trick is this: BE PRESENT, TOTALLY FOCUS ON WHAT YOU ARE DOING. Do not accept thoughts, images, questions, memories to control you. This can be done when you are totally focus on the practice.
So go for it! Practice and live your life as nothing else exist but what you are doing. Enjoy your life and let other to enjoy their lives.
