WHY BALANCE IS IMPORTANT?
Yes, we all need money, we all need to work; we all have problems of different kind. We all are just humans. It does not mean that you cannot change your life and make it better. Yoga and meditation can improve your life a lot!
What is balance and why should I get it?
Well, think about those athletes doing all kind of acrobatics on the balance beam. Isn’t that incredible? I just love them, I admire them so much. They might fall on either side of the beam. They have to develop a great balance to void falling. It is easy to see why balance is important for them, right?
We need balance in our life in many ways. Yes, in many ways! When we lack balance then we create problems in our life. Problems hurt in one way or another way; the same way it hurts to fall from either side on the beam.
Problems are the outcome of imbalance in our life. We are not born with a manual or guide on how to raise kids. It could great to have one manual for that, right? I bet it could be the manual most sold in the whole planet.
The true is this: We come to this world and our parents do not know what to do with us! Well, it is not their fault because their parents had the same problem. The fact is this: People do not know how to live in peace, in harmony and with love. The reason is simple: We do not have a manual to raise kids to practice that. Someone has to start that movement. It is YOU!
A life without balance is a chaotic life full of problems. The more imbalance a person has the more problems he/she will have and the more sick he/she will be.
So, let us talk how balance can help us to live better and healthier.
THE BALANCE OF THE NERVOUS SYSTEM.
The sympathetic N. S. works when we are under stress and the other one when we are not under stress. The problem here is this: We are always under stress! That is not normal and it is really dangerous for our health.
The idea is simple: We are supposed to have stress sometimes; but not always. Stress is good when we can handle it; but not when it goes far from our strength.
When we worry too much, when we have too much work or too much to study or to many things to do then we live under stress all the time. All that is called IMBALANCE!
When we learn how to live with balance then Nervous System works properly and then we recover health. The nervous system is connected to the chakras and thereof, when it does not work properly the chakras cannot do their job properly.
The body is amazing. It works as an unity! It has many organs, many systems, etc. but at the end it works as one. All the parts of the body and the chakras and all inner systems work as a team. So, when the nervous system does not work in balance then everything else does not work properly either.
The balance of our nervous system should be a priority in our life. Nevertheless, people do not understand that importance. They prefer to live to die as soon as possible. The outcome is sickness, getting older too fast and finally death. Then we blame everybody else, but we do not point out our own mistakes.
Health is the outcome of a proper balance in our life. It is our own responsibility. Either you work for it or you pay the consequences. Everybody has the right to choose; but a yogi knows what to do and he knows how to do it.
Yoga and meditation combined with exercise can bring balance to your life. There is one condition though: YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF YOUR OWN LIFE!
There is one more thing to recover the balance in our life. It is the balance between our heart and the brain.
How is that?
BALANCE: HEART VS BRAIN.
We are becoming more and more selfish. Yoga teaches you the opposite way. Karma Yoga, for example, teaches you to think about others and be concern about the whole world. We all are one. What affects a part of the planet will affect the rest.
Modern education pays too much emphasis on the brain: Data, knowledge, reasoning (Selfish reasoning), etc. Education is not concern about making better human beings, but on making robots to produce and make money. Who said money brings happiness?
There is a huge imbalance between the heart and the brain. Everywhere they tell you to use your brain and they bring information to be put in your brain; but human values are not taken in consideration.
Yes, we have great doctors, smart lawyers, intelligent business men, etc. but usually they lack human values: tolerance, calmness, kindness, charity, humbleness, love, appreciation, etc. These human values are part of our heart; they make us humans. But they are not taught in schools and parents are too busy to take care of those values.
Selfishness is huge and keeps growing up more, more and more. Nobody can stop that, but YOU! Do not wait for others to do something, you have to start. It takes one person to start a movement. Share all these ideas and keep moving toward a better world.
All this information that we are receiving day by day is making us more robots and less humans. Robots might handle lots of information, but they do not feel.
We are becoming machines to produce or make money. Our brain might be developing, but our heart is dying! Where are those great values of ancient heroes: Braveness, honor, loyalty, etc.? They are gone, materialism is winning the battle.
Yoga is here to make you human and it is here to explain you the reason of life. Yoga and meditation develops our heart and they make us humans because they develop both: Brain and heart.
The whole educational system lacks balance. A real educational system needs balance between our heart and our brain. We need intelligent people with a great knowledge, but with good hearts and a great desire to help others.
Parents should teach their kids to love others, to help others, to respect others, to do things for others. Kids like those could become real humans and great examples for humanity.
It is really important to bring information and data to our brain, but we need to develop our heart too.
A balance between our heart and our brain is a key to a better life. The whole world needs a change. No, it is not just the brain that we need to develop; but the heart too.
A brain full of data and without a good heart brings more stress and worries to our life. We need to develop a good heart full of faith, hope and optimism. Otherwise we will pay the consequences. Actually, we are paying the consequences already. Can you see where the world is going to? Can you see the violence in the planet? The whole world is a mess already and it is the price of the imbalance between our heart and our brain.
We really need to recover balance in all levels. But nobody can do that for us. It is our won responsibility and we have to face it.
IT IS TIME TO THINK OF OUR LIFE, IT IS TIME TO CHANGE IT FOR THE WELL BEING OF OTHERS!
HOW CAN YOGA HELP US TO GET BALANCE? => RELAXATION!
BALANCE AND RELAXATION!
We can learn to relax the body and the mind. Yoga asanas are great to relax the body as well as breathing exercises and mantras.
Prana is the vital primordial energy and through pranayamas or breathing meditation we vitalize the body and the mind; this brings a great balance to our life.
Yes, there several yoga asanas to teach you to gain more body balance and they are good. It is really nice to gain that kind of balance because it brings focus and concentration on what you are doing. Nevertheless, here we are talking about a more deep balance: Body-mind-soul balance!
All our attention most go to the body and the specific asana we are doing. The body and the mind get connected when doing any practice this way. Otherwise, the mind is thinking something else and it is not connected to the body.
It is easy to relax the body while doing practices, but we need to relax ourselves in practical life. How is this possible? It might not be easy, but it is worth to try. What should we do?
Relaxation is basic when practicing yoga and/or meditation. When you combined both with exercising then the benefits become amazing!
The key is to learn to relax the body and later the mind. The more you do it the more it will come to your daily life. When you are relaxed then you can control your mind and emotions; but when your mind and your emotions control you then you are under pressure. This pressure might cause you many problems in life. It can destroy any relationship, trust, love, and it will affect your job or business.
Relaxation is the key to control yourself. When you are not relaxed you have imbalance and it comes from pressure. It is a deadly cycle. Nobody can stop that, but you.
The best you can do to learn to relax and be relaxed is to practice exercise, yoga and meditation. They three can fight tress, anxiety and depression.
The best friend you have to defeat those enemies is you! Nobody else can take control of your life; but you!
RELAXATION IN PRACTICAL LIFE.
This tremendous amount of thoughts brings tension to our mind and body. That is why relaxing is not that easy; but we need ideas to develop this kind of relaxation in practical life.
We should learn to avoid negative thoughts and we should learn to avoid negative emotions if we really want to take things easy. Otherwise, we will not be able to relax ourselves; the first thing is to take things easy.
Do not hold things you cannot change; but fight to change whatever you really can change. If you neither practice yoga nor meditation then give a try. A daily yoga and or meditation help a lot to take things easy. Eventually those exercises will affect your daily life in a very positive way.
Learning to live day by day is great. That idea comes from yoga teachings. Holding things from the past and carry them around creates friction with the present. The only thing you need from the past is the lessons you learned, but nothing else.
The past is gone, please let it go; but never forget the lesson. When the lesson is not learned then the past comes again and again. It will torture your life and maybe the life of someone else.
The same way you want people to understand you the same way people want you to understand them. We all are humans we all deserve a second chance because we are not perfect.
When you learn to live in calmness then you change your life: EVERYTHING CHANGES! The wrong approach is trying to change the exterior world. The right approach is to change the interior world.
The more you calm the better for your mental, emotional and physical health. Relaxation and calmness will improve your relationships too because you will learn to take things easy and be more polite and kind with others.
Relaxation while doing your yoga and/or meditation practices will affect, sooner or later, your behavior. The reason is simple: You are balancing your life!
