YOGA, BREATHING, PRANA AND ENERGY.
Yoga has some exercises to boost your energy. Breathing properly is the key to do so. Pranayamas are really great to boost your energy and to make you feel better. Yes, some asanas might help you as well. Nevertheless, breathing properly is the key.
Yoga emphasizes the idea of preserving energies and taking awareness of the energetic system to live longer and better. Yoga has a great science to achieve a higher level of awareness and energy level. It is a need to study this great science in order to take the best from it.
This modern life is so full of worries, issues of all kind and, as we all know, it is full of stress. The latter causes a lot of energy lost. A regular person lives under very low levels of energy and that is one of the causes of tiredness and lack of desire to be alive. It also causes mental confusion and insecurity.
What can we do?
Prana is the primordial energy of the universe and the good news is that prana is within everything. It is within the food we eat, within the water we drink, within the oxygen we breathe, etc.
The key to boost our energy is absorbing lots of prana. Breathing becomes a great deal for every yogi. We need to take the prana from the oxygen to bring health to our body, mind and soul.
Pranayamas are breathing techniques to boost our energies using the prana contained within the atoms of oxygen. Please read my article: What are pranayamas? (Link at the bottom).
Modern science, which is really important for our lives, measures everything it can “see” and it is nice. But prana is invisible to the naked eye. The same way we feel the air, but we cannot see it; so we can feel the effect of prana; but we cannot see it… yet!
The science of breathing is really ancient; it goes several thousands of years in the past. It still works though and every person who had worked on pranayamas had noticed the power of boosting his/her own energy.
It is important to learn how to do those exercises. Please read my article: How to do Pranayamas (Link at the bottom).
So, what can we do to boost our energy?
THE VITAL BODY.
What ancient sages knew, and our science is learning nowadays, is that there is a source of energy for our body. This great body accumulates energy in an internal system with thousands of Nadis. These nadis are electromagnetic “wires” that move the energy (taken from our food) from one area to another area.
The three main Nadis are Ida, Pingala and Shushunna. They are part of our inner energetic system. The chakras are connected to this system and all together deliver energies to our whole physical body.
The sad news is that we waste a lot of energies because of the style of life we have in modern times. We waste a lot of emotional, mental and vital energies as a daily basis. This cause a lot of problems: Stress, illness, sadness, depression, tiredness, etc.
The physical body needs a rest to vitalize itself. When the physical body sleeps deeply then the vital body is able to vitalize the first one. In other words, the vital body delivers the energy properly when the body is sleeping. Well, when we are doing things, when we are thinking, etc. we are using the energy form the vital body.
Our vital body needs help from us. We really need to sleep properly so we revitalize the physical body while sleeping. Otherwise we waste extra amount of energies. A young person will recover easily; but the older you get the harder is to revitalize the body.
Helping the vital body to do its job is easy. The first step is sleeping enough, but we can do other things: Yoga asanas, pranayamas, meditation, mantras, etc.
Now let us give you some examples and some tips.
PRANAYAMAS AND EXERCISES.
Pranayamas improve our energy, promote relaxation and improve our health. Yoga is not a matter of beliefs or opinions, but a matter of practicing and experimenting by ourselves.
When any yoga practice is not done properly then results are not achieve. The problem is the way a person practices. Yoga is a science and such science requires patience and perseverance.
Oxygen is vital for the physical body, but the matter is beyond oxygen; the matter is Prana: The Primordial energy dwelling within everything.
Exercises are so important for the physical body. One of the reasons for such a statement is that when exercising, especially cardio exercises, we inhale more oxygen (Prana) than normal. This prana puts into action the inner energies of the vital body then the physical body is vitalized. This happens when we do pranayamas properly.
You get the best from either exercises or pranayamas when you focus on what you are doing. All yoga exercises need this especial concentration. Why? Simple: Concentration is like a magnifier. The more you focus the more energy you put into it and the results are better. When doing any yoga practice, even just asanas, and you are thinking about something else then your energy is lost in multiple things. You need to bring your energies into one thing: THE PRACTICE!
You will find out on this site the emphasis on this matter: Concentration or attention on the practice. That is the secret to do any yoga practice.
Both (exercises and pranayamas) are so important for health because both boost our energetic system.
Women should avoid any pranayama while in the period. Why? Please read my articles about pranayamas? (Links at the bottom).
OTHER TIPS TO BOOST YOUR DAILY ENERGY.
Exercises, yoga and meditation in the morning create a big impact for each day. If you have time for all that it could be great; but time, in modern time, is a big issue. So you can do anyone of them to boost your energy; but especially some asanas, pranaymas and a good workout.
Eating properly in the morning is also very important. Fruit and or veggie smoothies are wonderful! I know it from experience. You do not need to eat a lot; but what the body needs. It depends on what you will do (Exercises, yoga or meditation).
Avoid thinking too much because it makes you to waste a lot of mental energies. Instead do some workout or yoga. Pranayamas are really good to vitalize your body and your brain. You have to do pranayamas properly to feel good results though.
Smiling is really great and you have to find ways to practice that as a daily basis. It rejuvenates you because it boost your energy.
Nature is amazing and it can vitalize your body and your mind. A walking in a park or by the shore of a lake or river makes the job too. Do not think twice and take a weekend by the ocean and breathe deep to bring prana to your lungs.
Outdoors activities such as running, climbing, and swimming are great to boost your energy. Do not hesitate and go for it.
It is really good to put away (at least for a moment) all computers, tablets, cell phones, and electronic games. All that makes you use your brain too much and it needs some rest. Here again we have to choose something better like the tips above. Then after a while you come back to your electronic devices.
Fasting? It really helps, but do not overdo it, especially if you are fasting for the first time. Some people fast
for a few days, but after that they eat a lot. It does not make sense. It is better to do it just for one or two days and take it easy the next day.
These are simple and common sense tips. Fanaticism is never good. Fanatics do too many mistakes and later they regret.
Enjoy your life, eat properly, practice yoga or meditation and do exercises. The world is beautiful and you should discover it without fanaticism.
