INTRODUCTION TO HEALING MEDITATION.
Meditation is a wonderful ancient science practiced worldwide. Meditation, as well as yoga, goes with the flow of nature. Healing meditation can be use to give maintenance to our inner systems or to prevent some diseases. Both yoga and meditation are great to keep our body, mind and soul healthy.
Western medicine is really good and it studies any method before accepting it. Acupuncture, for example, is more than 5,000 years old; but western medicine accepted it a few years ago. Nobody can see the channels where the needles have to go, but acupuncture works! Why? The reason is simple: We are not just a body, we are energy. Let the flow of your own energy go in a natural way and then health will flow within you.
Healing meditation works with your inner energies and your chakras. But practicing healing meditation requires a few things:

Healing mediation requires real concentration, otherwise it might not work. So, it could be good to practice some concentration exercises. Please read my articles << Mind and attention >> and << Relaxation and concentration: How to develop them! >> (Links at the bottom).
It is important to read those articles in order to get the best form Healing Meditation. That is why a teacher is so important. He/she can guide you in order through the whole process but you must have patience to perseverance to start.
CONCENTRATION IN MEDITATION IS REALLY IMPORTANT!
The magic of concentration is simple: It brings all your thoughts into one point, as a magnifier brings all the rays of the sun into one powerful ray capable to set fire to a paper.
When the mind is distracted then its power is lost; but concentration is the capacity to bring your mind into what you really have to do.
When doing any relaxation or meditation practice you are supposed to focus on one what you are doing and nothing else. Beginners suffer because they do not have the ability to control their mind; but this is possible when you practice often, daily is the best.
It is really important to forget about << TIME. >> People ask: How long will it take to learn concentration? The answer is simple: Forget about time. Each person is different. Some might take a few months others longer. But the key is this: Practicing! Concentration will never come if you read, read and read; you need to practice as often as possible.
The power of concentration will give you the ability to go control the mind and, even more, the ability to go beyond the mind. Healing meditation is possible; but the better your concentration is the better results will come out.
HOW DOES HEALING MEDITATION WORK?
Do not expect to cure all your illnesses and pains with it. Healing meditation is more to prevent than to cure. You really need to talk to a doctor periodically and follow his/her recommendations.
Some illnesses come from outside to inside: We eat something that causes a stomach pain, for example. In other situations the problem comes from inside to outside: Thoughts and emotions affect our health.
Healing meditation works from inside to affect outside. It works with the inner energies, the chakras, the mind and, of course, concentration.
The matter is to control your thoughts, emotions and energies to cause a positive effect in your health. Here the most important element is YOU!
WORKING WITH THE CHAKRAS.
The endocrine glands produce hormones that affect our health. When we work on the chakras we are affecting the endocrine glands and therefore, we are working on our health.
Mantras play a huge role on working with the chakras. Sound is energy and so are mantras. When doing mantras we are sending energy to a specific mantra and we putting it to vibrate. This vibration makes the chakra to work.
There are cases of Masters who were sick and they got back their health chanting mantras for a long time. Yes, they were masters and we are not. So, we should be more careful about this. A beginner cannot expect to do what a Master can do. So, it is better to understand our limits.
I do not mean that it is not possible; but I mean it would take a long time doing daily practices to do something like that. So, what we can do?
First is first, a beginner should start practicing with mantras and developing concentration. Yes, there are some techniques to do so. Please read my article: Relaxation techniques and tips for beginners (Link at the bottom).
Working with the chakras is working with the inner energies. When they are not working properly or they are very low then we get sick. The idea is to vitalize the inner energetic system and that is possible when we do the following:
- Yoga, especially Kundalini Yoga.
DOES FAITH HAVE TO DO ANYTHING WITH HEALING MEDITATION?
It is not a physical power like strength and the regular methods of measurements cannot know how big it can be. Nevertheless, we all have it in one way or another way. Faith or << conviction >> goes as far as you can make it go.
A person without faith on himself/herself cannot succeed in life. Nobody can do what the mind does not believe. Faith sends a strong message to fulfill a task. Even those who call themselves skeptic have faith on something; usually they have faith on themselves, which is good. Otherwise they could not do what they can do. I know; it is called self-confidence. Yes, that is faith; but we can make it stronger through experiments with ourselves.
Faith starts in a very small degree for some specific situations. If we exercise that capacity we can make stronger. We do not need a blind faith, but a scientific faith based on our experience and beyond our own beliefs.
Faith works the same way strength is build. You need a gym to go to build muscles and the more you do the stronger the muscles get. A person starts lifting a small weight; but he/she loads more and more weight.
What are we saying? We are saying that you cannot start with a lot of faith, but a little of it. Then you practice slowly so you get stronger in faith and we are talking about SELF-CONFIDENCE OR SELF- CONVICTION. Nothing can be done without them.
INGREDIENTS FOR PRACTICING HEALING MEDITATION:
- COMMON SENSE (Visit your doctor).
- INNER MENTAL CONTROL.
- DEEP CONCENTRATION.
- FAITH OR SELF-CONVICTION OR SELF-CONFIDENCE.
In the beginning you can try, but do not expect a real miracle. Set your feet on the ground and do not forget to visit your doctor. Remember: I am not a doctor, just a yogi.
I will give you an example of Healing meditation, but you really have to develop all the conditions explained above.
