Albert Einstein, the great scientist, stated that energy can become matter and matter can become energy. The physical food that we eat is the matter that becomes energy thanks to the digestive system. Ancient wisdom says: "YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!" This is so true because the food we eat becomes energy and we are energy. The energy taken from our food becomes part of the energy we are. Nutrition takes a huge importance when we know that the food we eat become part, as energy, of us. Now it is so easy to understand that eating junk food, that many people love, is not the best idea because it is not the best energy to eat.
YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.
Understanding that we are not just flesh and bones, but something a lot more complex, and at the same time marvelous, make us to appreciate more our lives. We can change our own life and, by radiation and/or vibration, we can change our environment.
Nutrition here takes a great relevance. Nevertheless, we have to understand nutrition in a very integral way. INTEGRAL NUTRITION IS MORE THAN EATING PROPERLY, IT IS LEARNING TO LIVE IN HARMONY WITH NATURE AND THE UNIVERSE. Why? Simple, energy is what we really are.
Yes, we take energy form the food we eat, but it is not the only source of energy.
SOURCES OF ENERGY AND NUTRITION:
-AIR is another great source of energy. Actually it is even more important than food. Some yogis and other great men were able to live without food for FORTY DAYS! Nevertheless, nobody can live without air for more than a few minutes.Air (oxygen) is really important to do exercises properly. Air is vital for yoga and meditation. Air is a real need for the whole body, especially for the brain and the heart.
YES! BREATHING PROPERLY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EATING PROPERLY!
Both (Food and air) contain PRANA, the primordial energy. PRANA is within everything, within each atom of the universe. Everything is prana then we are prana, it is our nature! The matter of eating and breathing is to absorb prana into our body.
The science of breathing teaches PRANAYAMAS. They are special techniques to bring prana into our body, but Pranayamas transform that prana into a higher level of energy to feed not just the body, but the soul.
THOUGHTS AND EMOTIONS.

POSITIVE THOUGHTS AND POSITIVE EMOTIONS WILL AFFECT YOUR LIFE IN A POSITIVE WAY. Nobody needs to be really clever to understand that. Cultivating great values such as love, compassion, kindness, gratitude, charity, philanthropy, etc will create a better environment in your life. Yes, more spiritual people will come to you because of your vibration. Therefore, A MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL DIET ARE PART OF AN INTEGRAL NUTRITION (We will discuss this at the end of this article).
We all know a sunny day is much better than a cloudy day or a reining day. Do you see how the presence of the sun affects our life? Yes, it does. Imagine yourself with the person you love, but both of you by the shore and with a brilliant full moon. Is not that romantic? Well, the moon affects our mood too.
We all are sensitive to different influences coming form the universe, even when we do not see them, even when we are not aware of those influences.
We cannot control those influences, they just come to us. But sometimes we can choose to stay indoor or to go to climb a mountain or to go to a park to run. When we can choose then we have to be smart.
MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL DIET.
We should not bring into our mind everything, but people do. People read everything: From a nice educational book to "junk" books, such as gossips! Your mind needs a break from thinking and a good way is to choose what to read. We should avoid non-important lectures. Instead of reading such things you should enjoy more time with the persons you love, family and friends.
Emotions? Here we apply the same idea. We should avoid bringing into our life all kind of emotions. TV movies and TV shows, for example, are full of violence, hatred, revenge, etc. All of them are negative emotions. Nowadays it is almost impossible to watch a movie without violence. It is sad, but people really love violence and they want a world of peace! There are other options than watching those ind of movies for hours: Spend more time doing more productive activities (Yoga, exercise, meditation, etc.)
MIND, EMOTION AND BODY BALANCE!
Reading is a great habit, but we need to control it, as explained lines above. We should not keep reading all the time, at least we should select important things to read such as how to improve your life, how to develop your spiritual side, books of the great Masters, ancient mythology, books that encourage you to become a better human, etc. That way you are cultivating your mind in a positive way.
We should learn to control our emotions, so we avoid negative emotions such as violence, hatred, revenge, etc. It is sad, but TV is full of all that. People do not understand they are feeding those negative emotions. We need to cultivate positive emotions such as love, compassion, forgiveness, etc. Classical music (Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Wagner, etc.) and relaxing music are great to cultivate positive emotions. It is important to calm down and relax to solve problems.
Yes, we need to do exercise and yoga to build a better and healthier body but we do not need to go to the extremes. We need to be intelligent. A beginner (Doing exercise or yoga) should start as a beginner. Some of them want to do the same as a person with experience.That is not smart. Yoga does not accept competition and it does not teach competition. Yoga teaches that there is only one person to defeat: You!
balancing this trio (Body, mind and emotions) has to be learned. It might take some time. It depends on the ability and understanding of the practitioner. This is another reason why yoga is so important Yoga explains you how to balance your whole life without fanaticism. Yes, I know some yoga practitioners become fanatics, but is is not because of yoga; it is the outcome of not understanding yoga.
Practicing yoga requires intelligence, courage, patience, perseverance and, this is important, a human heart. A yogi learns to balance his/her life to live according to the flaw of nature and the harmony of the universe.
